Bhopal is among the first 20 cities selected in first round of smart cities challenge under Government of India’s (GoI) smart cities mission (SCM) to implement the smart city proposal (SCP). According to which, at least 10% of the electricity consumption must be from renewable resources. For the pursuance of the aforesaid, Under solar city mission Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation limited has taken initiative to produce green power by installation of rooftop solar power plants. To implement the same BMC Signed Mou with Solar Energy Corporation of India, New Delhi for installation of 3MW and 1 MW with MP Urja Vikas Nigam Limited, Bhopal Roof top solar projects.
